How NRI Institute of Technology (Autonomous), Pothavarappadu, Vijayawada converts CGPA to percentage
VERIFIED 2026-08-15 from the college's own NRIA23 regulations; formula stated verbatim in §19 immediately below the Award of Class table. || INTERNAL CONSISTENCY PASSES: (CGPA − 0.5) × 10 reduces to 10·GP − 5, mapping grade points onto mark-band midpoints (GP 10 → 95 against a ≥90 band; GP 9 → 85 against 84.5; GP 5 → 45 against 44.5). || TENTH COLLEGE WITH IDENTICAL CLAUSE WORDING — joining SRKR R23, AEC AR23, AMR-24, BVCITS BR23, DNRCET DR24, SGIT-R25, GIETEC GEBT24, KITS Divili KITS24 and KHIT R23. All ten share the sentence, the S/A/B/C/D/E grade table and the 7.5/6.5/5.5/5.0 class bands, and all are R23-generation or later. This is now conclusively the JNTUK R23 template propagating through its autonomous colleges. || THREE REGULATION GENERATIONS PUBLISHED AND CLEANLY LABELLED — NRIA23, NRIA20, NRIA18 — with a distinctive institutional prefix (NRIA = NRI Autonomous). The NRIA18 date implies autonomy from AY 2018-19, earlier than most colleges in this batch. || WORTH READING NRIA20 AND NRIA18 NEXT: they are directly reachable at nriit.edu.in/files/REGULATIONS-NRIA20.pdf and /REGULATIONS-NRIA18.pdf. If they carry −0.75, this becomes the first college in the batch where a SINGLE institution's own constant changed across generations, which would be strong direct evidence for the generation hypothesis. Currently that hypothesis rests on comparing different colleges. || THE SITE IS UNUSUALLY WELL-STRUCTURED: separate JNTUK and NRI Autonomous academic calendars, a full Academic Council, Governing Council and per-department Boards of Studies, and a dedicated external examination portal at nriitexamcell.com. A parallel unified ERP/LMS is being stood up at nriit.world. || REGULATIONS ARE PUBLISHED PER-DEPARTMENT rather than centrally — the canonical URL resolves to /ece/academic-regulations/. Other departments have their own copies at the same relative path. || DRAFTING RESIDUE: heavy 'University' and 'Vice-Chancellor' references throughout (§10, §11, §12, §17, §27), and the Lateral Entry annexe is headed 'ACADEMIC REGULATIONS (R23)' rather than NRIA23 — inherited from the JNTUK template. || NAAC GRADE CONFLICT: the college's newer site (nriit.world) claims A+; LinkedIn, targetadmission and AGNIRVA all say A, with AGNIRVA giving validity to 21 June 2029. Recorded as A pending confirmation. || DISTRICT: Krishna. Note Agiripalli remained in Krishna after the 2022 reorganisation (unlike Ibrahimpatnam and Jaggaiahpet, which moved to NTR). || AGNIRVA CARRIES A DUPLICATE RECORD with a mangled PIN of 821212 — a typo for 521212.

Source & verification
own — NRI Institute of Technology, Academic Regulations (NRIA23) for B.Tech (Regular-Full time), §19 Grading / Award of Class: 'CGPA to Percentage conversion Formula – (CGPA – 0.5) x 10'
Applies to: B.Tech (Regular, 160 credits) admitted from AY 2023-24 onward and B.Tech (Lateral Entry, 120 credits) from AY 2024-25 onward, under NRIA23. Grade scale (10-point absolute): S (Superior) = 10 (≥90), A (Excellent) = 9 (80-89), B (Very Good) = 8 (70-79), C (Good) = 7 (60-69), D (Average) = 6 (50-59), E (Pass) = 5 (40-49), F (Fail) = 0, Ab (Absent) = 0. Class is awarded on CGPA, not percentage: First Class with Distinction ≥ 7.5, First Class ≥ 6.5 < 7.5, Second Class ≥ 5.5 < 6.5, Pass Class ≥ 5.0 < 5.5. Non-credit audit courses are marked Satisfactory/Unsatisfactory and excluded from SGPA/CGPA/percentage; no class or division is awarded for the Honors programme. COHORT LIMIT: verified for NRIA23 only. The college also publishes NRIA20 (from AY 2020-21) and NRIA18 (from AY 2018-19), neither of which has been read — and given that JNTUK's own constant was −0.75 in the R18/R20 era and changed to −0.5 only at R23, the earlier NRIA generations may well use −0.75. Check the regulation code on your grade card. Students admitted before 2018-19 followed JNTU Kakinada regulations directly; see the jntuk entry. NOT TO BE CONFUSED WITH: NRI Academy of Sciences / NRI Medical College at Chinakakani (Guntur), a different institution under a different society; NRI Institute of Technology, Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh); and Lingaya's Institute of Management and Technology, which shares the 521212 PIN.
